AFIDEP - What we do
Knowledge translation
AFIDEP generates knowledge to influence policies and accountability at two levels. Firstly, the Institute generates knowledge to make the investment case and strengthen the commitment and the accountability of political leaders and policy makers to the development issues they are addressing. Secondly, AFIDEP generates knowledge that provides practical and scalable lessons for addressing barriers to access to services and enhancing overall program effectiveness. The Institute generates its new knowledge through four interrelated methodological approaches:
1. Systematic reviews and synthesis of existing evidence
2. Secondary data analysis using macro-level techniques including future scenario building and modeling
3. Analysis of policy and program environments to understand challenges to and opportunities for change
4. Assessment and documentation of best practices and drivers of success
