Themba joins AFIDEP as a Research and Policy Associate. His work involves providing statistical and spatial analysis of nationally representative secondary data.
As a Research Scientist with a solid Statistics and Computer Science background, Themba is experienced in managing and analysing big datasets and has authored and significantly contributed to the analysis of several high impact scientific publications.
He brings in over 7 years’ experience having worked as a Research Scientist at the Malawi Epidemiology Intervention Research Unit (MEIRU) previously called The Karonga Prevention Study, an overseas research site for the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine with a major research focus on tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, demography, and non-communicable diseases.
Themba holds a Master of Science Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and a Bachelor of Science Statistics and Computer Science from the University of Malawi.
