Ahead of the Nairobi Summit on ICPD25, we participated in This Is Why I March, a UNFPA-led social media campaign aimed at raising awareness and stoking enthusiasm about sexual and reproductive health and rights and the Summit. The goal is to raise our voices and ask world leaders to deliver what was promised 25 years ago in Cairo.
Everyone has an important role to play – whether you’re headed to Nairobi or working locally, your voice is needed, your conviction, your dedication. This is why the UNFPA is giving the floor to its staff, partners, influencers and friends to tell the world why we care – Why We March.
Below, several AFIDEP staff explain why they march:
Rose Oronje, Director, Public Policy & Communications
Steve Sharra, Senior Research and Policy Analyst
Nurudeen Alhassan, Ph.D., Research and Policy Analyst
Elizabeth Kahurani, Policy Engagement & Communications Manager
Claire Jensen, Research and Policy Associate
Hleziwe Hara, Research and Policy Associate
Victory Kamthunzi, Communications Officer (Malawi and Southern Africa)
Gloria Koima, Project Assistant
