The IUSSP Conference on Population, Poverty and Inequality is organized by the IUSSP Scientific Panel on Population, Poverty and Inequality will be hosted by the Institute for Social Research (ISR) at the University of Michigan on 27-29 June 2019. The conference will bring together policy-relevant evidence on the interactions between population dynamics, poverty and inequality and scholars from across the globe to share their research on this topic, receive feedback and mentorship from senior faculty, and forge new international research collaborations.
AFIDEP is being represented at the conference by Dr. Eliya Zulu, AFIDEP’s Executive Director and Prof Nyovani Madise, AFIDEP’s Director of Development Policy andHead of Malawi office. Dr. Zulu is part of the scientific committee and will participate in the conference as follows:
- Discussant – Session 1B: Inclusive Development,
- Discussion leader – Plenary 2: From Research to Policy: Influencing Decisionmakers
- Chair – Session 7A: Inequality and Demographics: New Approaches
Prof Madise will participate in Session 5A on Food Security.
