Dr Ekouevi is a recognized expert in international development with more than 30 years of experience and demonstrated integrative skills in addressing development issues from a multisectoral perspective.
During his 26 years tenure at the World Bank, as Senior Economist, he led advisory, operational, and analytical work on energy access, energy sector reform, and clean energy transition in several countries of Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and Caribbean, and in selected countries in South Asia.
Prior to that, he was an Associate Expert at the UNFPA funded program on “Population, Human Resources and Development in Africa » based at the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning where he delivered lectures on population, economic development and environment interrelations. Earlier in his career, Dr Ekouevi was a Research Fellow at the Institute for Resource Development, Macro International, where he provided backstopping and in-situ technical assistance in the implementation and the monitoring of Demographic and Health Surveys in selected African countries.
Dr Ekouevi holds a Maîtrise es Sciences Economiques from the Université du Bénin, Togo and a PhD in Demography from the University of Pennsylvania, USA.
