Nurudeen’s work involves knowledge synthesis and technical assistance in the implementation of ongoing projects, and development of proposals.
Nurudeen joined AFIDEP in 2017, and his previous work involved serving as a research and teaching assistant at the Regional Institute for Population Studies, University of Ghana. He was also a visiting scholar at the Pennsylvania State University in 2015.
He holds a Ph.D. and a M.Phil. in Population Studies as well as a a First Class Honors B.A. Degree in Social Work with Political Science, all from the University of Ghana. His interests lie in gender, power dynamics, adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health, and fertility transitions in sub-Saharan Africa.
Nurudeen has presented at several high-level international population conferences, including Population Association of America (PAA) annual meetings, the African Population Conference and the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population’s annual International Population Conferences.
