{"id":20309,"date":"2021-04-26T17:59:21","date_gmt":"2021-04-26T14:59:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.afidep.org\/afidep-to-lead-global-usaid-program-to-strengthen-cross-sectoral-benefits-of-family-planning\/"},"modified":"2021-04-26T17:59:21","modified_gmt":"2021-04-26T14:59:21","slug":"afidep-to-lead-global-usaid-program-to-strengthen-cross-sectoral-benefits-of-family-planning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/afidep.org\/fr\/afidep-to-lead-global-usaid-program-to-strengthen-cross-sectoral-benefits-of-family-planning\/","title":{"rendered":"AFIDEP to lead global USAID program to strengthen cross-sectoral benefits of family planning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) has been selected to lead work on a new global USAID project aimed at strengthening the cross-sectoral benefits of family planning.<\/p>\n<p>The new project, known as BUILD (Building Capacity for Integrated Family Planning &amp; Reproductive Health and Population, Environment and Development Action) has been awarded to AFIDEP and partners: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leadsea.mw\/\">Leadership for Environment and Development Southern and Eastern Africa (LEAD SEA)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfpi.org\/\">PATH Foundation Philippines Inc (PFPI)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pacja.org\/\">Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA),<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fhi360.org\/\">Family Health International 360 (FHI360).\u00a0\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/afidep.org\/fr\/staff\/eliya-m-zulu-ph-d\/\">Dr Eliya Zulu<\/a>, the Executive Director of AFIDEP and Leader of the BUILD program AFIDEP is honoured to be entrusted with spearheading this global program that will go a long way in making the case on why family planning is a vital development investment. \u201cIt will practically assist stakeholders and decision-makers in various sectors, particularly those working on environment, climate change, food security, biodiversity, and conservation to integrate population and family planning innovations in their policies and programmes,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/afidep.org\/fr\/?post_type=staff&#038;p=9748\">Prof Nyovani Madise<\/a>, who is the co-leader of the BUILD Programme said, \u201d<em>BUILD will enable us to support countries on their paths towards sustainable development.
