The three-day workshop will begin on 22 May to 24 May 2019, at the EKA Hotel in Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>Evidence is critical in identifying the most effective interventions for transformational development outcomes. Yet, the use of scientific research evidence in policy and development programme processes remains relatively limited in the African context. Limited capacity for evidence use is documented as a key factor in limiting evidence use. This is despite increasing interest in evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) initiatives for and by public officials.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop, therefore, seeks to increase the number of academic leaders championing EIDM in Africa by stimulating interest and enhancing the skills and capacities of scholars in contributing to institutionalising a culture of EIDM in governments<\/p>\n<span class='bctt-click-to-tweet'><span class='bctt-ctt-text'><a href='https:\/\/x.com\/intent\/tweet?url=https%3A%2F%2Fafidep.org%2Ffr%2F%3Fp%3D29062&#038;text=The%20workshop%2C%20therefore%2C%20seeks%20to%20increase%20the%20number%20of%20academic%20leaders%20championing%20EIDM%20in%20Africa%20by%20stimulating%20interest%20and%20enhancing%20the%20skills%20and%20capacities%20of%20scholars&#038;via=Afidep&#038;related=Afidep' target='_blank'rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The workshop, therefore, seeks to increase the number of academic leaders championing EIDM in Africa by stimulating interest and enhancing the skills and capacities of scholars <\/a><\/span><a href='https:\/\/x.com\/intent\/tweet?url=https%3A%2F%2Fafidep.org%2Ffr%2F%3Fp%3D29062&#038;text=The%20workshop%2C%20therefore%2C%20seeks%20to%20increase%20the%20number%20of%20academic%20leaders%20championing%20EIDM%20in%20Africa%20by%20stimulating%20interest%20and%20enhancing%20the%20skills%20and%20capacities%20of%20scholars&#038;via=Afidep&#038;related=Afidep' target='_blank' class='bctt-ctt-btn'rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Share on X<\/a><\/span>\n<p>It brings together a total of 30 AAS Fellows from West and East Africa that have reached the highest level of excellence in their field of expertise and have made contributions to the advancement of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) in Africa.
