Meru Hotel in Arusha, Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the conference on 9<sup>th<\/sup> April, AFIDEP will be sharing lessons drawn from the Institute&rsquo;s programme implementation on strengthening the capacity of policymakers in Kenya and Malawi to use evidence in health policymaking. AFIDEP will also be sharing tools such as the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/localhost\/afidep\/?page_id=4388\">Evidence Informed Policymaking (EIPM) Guidelines<\/a>.<\/em> The objective of AFIDEP&rsquo;s session is to stimulate decision-makers (and particularly, policymakers) from other African countries to adopt the interventions and tools from the programme in order to improve decision-making in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The Best Practices Forum draws participation from various stakeholders in the health sector such as researchers, health practitioners, policymakers and development partners with shared interest in the role of scientific research in health issues. The theme of this year&rsquo;s forum is <em>Promoting Multi-Sectoral Collaboration for Health through Sustainable Development Goals<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Discussions at the conference shall focus on good governance and leadership practices in the health sector, mitigating the impact of emerging and re-emerging diseases.
