On 3<sup>rd<\/sup> April 2017, AFIDEP&rsquo;s Executive Director Dr. Eliya Zulu shall be a keynote speaker at the opening of the 50<sup>th<\/sup> session of the United Nations Commission on Population and Development (CPD) in New York. Dr. Zulu shall be speaking on the changing age structures and sustainable development in youthful societies.<\/p>\n<p>The session which runs from 3rd to 7th April 2017, brings together delegates from UN Member States, representatives of non-governmental organisations and experts from international organisations.<\/p>\n<p>Among other issues, the Commission shall deliberate on actions for the further implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) at global, regional and national levels, with emphasis on sustainable development. Conversations shall also focus on changes in age structure and sustainable development in ageing societies.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Zulu shall also be a panelist\u00a0at a side event on the 4th of April 2017 during the commemoration the 50th Session of the CPD.
