She was formerly Senior <\/span><span class=\"s12\">Research and Policy Analyst at AFIDEP, managing the ASHER project, leading work in Ghana on the TEAM-UP project and supporting gender integration on the Health Tech Platform and BUILD project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s14\">She brings expertise in demography,<\/span><span class=\"s14\"> gender research,<\/span><span class=\"s14\"> health and nutrition. Her research interests are largely linked to understanding women\u2019s status and its associations with health and well-being. She has<\/span><span class=\"s14\"> a<\/span><span class=\"s14\"> keen interest in how African women conceptualise and understand their status and the social, economic and cultural institutions that contribute to the continually lower status of women compared to men in Africa, and the rest of the world. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s15\">Prior to joining AFIDEP, Naa worked as a Lecturer before being promoted to Senior Lecturer at the Regional Institute for Population Studies, University of Ghana between 2014 and 2021. She also did her Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship with the same institution and has undertaken Visiting Research Fellowships at the Pennsylvania State University and the University of South Florida, USA. <\/span><span class=\"s15\">Naa holds a PhD in Population Studies, a Master of Philosophy in Population Studies, and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Ghana. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s16\">Naa is a <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Queen Elizabeth Scholar (<\/span><span class=\"s5\">2019-2021), a <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Univ<\/span><span class=\"s5\">ersity <\/span><span class=\"s5\">of Ghana and Carnegie Corporation of New York- BANGA-Africa Post-Doctoral Fellow (2019), a <\/span><span class=\"s5\">Carnegie<\/span> <span class=\"s5\">Corporation of New York<\/span><span class=\"s5\"> \u201cNext Gen.
