Themed ‘Transforming Education,’ this year’s International Youth Day highlights the need as well as existing efforts to make education more relevant, equitable and inclusive for all youth. The day calls for not only stakeholders to transform education but also the youth themselves to actively contribute to the realization of inclusive and equitable quality education.

AFIDEP commemorated the day through a partnership with a youth organization from Nairobi, Kenya for a number of activities including raising awareness on the plight of the youth in Kenya in various aspects of their lives including but not limited to education, skills and opportunities.

International Youth Day is commemorated every year on 12 August.
