Dialogues sur la politique démographique du Malawi

The project aims to study the relationship and implication of population dynamics on critical areas of development in Malawi; poverty, transformational education and skills development, private sector development and job creation, environment and governance.
The project will have policy dialogues aimed at identifying ways of positioning populations issues into the critical areas of development highlighted.
These policy dialogues will bring together key stakeholders to deliberate on ways of positioning population issues to achieve sustainable and equitable development.

With support from UNFPA Malawi, AFIDEP will produce a series of position papers on the implication of Malawi’s population dynamics on critical areas of development: poverty, transformational education and skills development, private sector development and job creation, environment and governance. These position papers will set the tone for a series of policy dialogues that will bring together key stakeholders to deliberate on ways of positioning population issues to achieve sustainable and equitable development. These position papers are also expected to guide thinking in the development of a successor policy to vision 2020—Malawi’s long-term development plan which is due to elapse in 2020.
