Leyla joins AFIDEP to provide support to various projects including technical support on conceptualization all the way to the monitoring of projects, analysis and report writing.
She has over 15 years’ experience in health research in both humanitarian emergency responses and academia, with a wide range of experiences nationally and internationally. She has wealth of experience in various types of research to include implementation research, impact evaluation research and evidence research synthesis.
Leyla has previously worked at Save the Children International as a Research Manager where she led the development and implementation of coherent and coordinated research strategies on health programmes. She has also worked at the University of Cape Town as a Research Scientist.
Leyla holds a Ph.D. in Public Health Epidemiology. She has published over 35 articles worldwide in a renowned journal with a major focus on evidence synthesis in the health sector. She endeavours to become a prominent public health expert and contribute professionally to the quality of life of people globally by actively participating in policy-making and designing evidence-based health interventions.
