Teresa Vuhungi Saliku
Research and Policy Associate

Teresa Saliku serves at AFIDEP as a Research and Policy Associate, based in the Nairobi Office. Teresa brings in over twenty years’ professional work in the health sector.

Before joining AFIDEP, Teresa worked at the University of California, San Francisco – Global Programs for Research and Training (UCSF – GPRT) as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, CQI Coordinator and Senior Program Officer. She has also worked at University of California – San Francisco/ Kenya Medical Research Institute (UCSF/KEMRI) as a Program Assistant and Health Analyst, and at Twaweza East Africa – Uwazi component as a Research Analyst in the social sectors of water, health and education.

Teresa has also worked at the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) as a consultant and as a Research Officer. At Aga Khan Health Services, she worked as a Project Coordinator and has had a stint at the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF).

Currently pursuing her PhD, Teresa holds an MSc. Course in Community Health and Health Management in Developing Countries from Rupretcht-Karls University, Heidelberg. She also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methodologies as applied to Population and Development from the University of Nairobi, and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from Kenyatta University.

During her free time, Teresa enjoys travelling, engaging with nature,

listening to and playing music.
