The Department for International Development (DFID) Somalia will from 26 June, be hosting a two-day practitioner-level discussion on urbanisation in Somalia at an event called ‘Technical Dialogue on Urban Resilience in Somalia’, in Nairobi, Kenya.
The event seeks to get perspectives from the ground, share experiences and exchange information from technical experts and Somali stakeholders on how they can collectively work towards improving urban resilience in Somalia as cities continue to grow.
Dr Eliya Zulu, the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) Executive Director, will be in attendance and will speak during the Tuesday afternoon session: “The ‘youth bulge’, employment and policy implications”. The objective of this session is to identify what is known about the region.
