Population and Development (PPD) Africa Regional Office in close partnership with the Kenya National Council for Population and Development (NCPD) will be hosting the 9th Eastern Africa Reproductive Health Network (EARHN) Coordination Meeting on 24-25 June 2019 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Nairobi. The forum will attract delegates from all the seven Eastern Africa countries (Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda).
AFIDEP’s Dr. Eliya Zulu will speak at the meeting on Enhancing the Demographic Dividend (DD) for Socio-economic Transformation in Eastern Africa.
EARHN is a south-south regional advocacy network formed with the core objective of enabling its member countries undertake a series of advocacy activities geared towards the improvement of reproductive health services and programmes in the region. Since 2008, Partners in Population and Development Africa Regional Office (PPD ARO) and its partners have organised annual EARHN coordination meetings with the goal of sharing progress on achievements made, opportunities and the challenges that remain in the implementation of EARHN Strategic Plans. The annual coordination meetings also provide opportunities for sharing good, innovative and cost-effective practices for addressing reproductive health, family planning and population challenges in the Eastern Africa region.
