Clive Mutunga joins AFIDEP as the new Project Director of the USAID-funded BUILD project.
Clive brings to BUILD extensive experience and strategic leadership in cross-sectoral Population Environment and Development (PED) approaches.
Over the past two decades, he has contributed to cross-sectoral strategy, policy and program design and implementation. He has also led work on strategic communication and partnership management, research, evaluation, learning and knowledge management in population, health, environment and climate change.
Clive received a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Sociology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya and a master’s degree in Economics from the same university, with a specialisation in Environment and Natural Resource Economics from the Centre of Environmental Economics Policy and Analysis at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Clive started his career at the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research & Analysis (KIPPRA), where he conducted research and analysis of policy to support program and policy design. He was instrumental in the program formulation and implementation of various development sectors such as environment and natural resources, health, agriculture, energy, trade, and economic growth.
