LIGHT Consortium is conducting a training to strengthen capacity for understanding concepts and research methods for enhanced policy discussions and decision-making.
The training aimed to offer colleagues and stakeholders an accessible foundation in health economics, quantitative and qualitative research methods, and mathematical modelling to support evidence-informed health-policy discussions.
The training objectives:
- To (re)familiarise participants with key concepts and research methods commonly used in health-policy discussions.
- To strengthen participants’ ability to effectively understand and communicate research evidence in ways that inform and influence context-specific policy and decision-making.
- To promote the integration of equity, gender, and social determinants of health into routine monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
The LIGHT Consortium believes that, when communicating research, we have our most effective discussions when all stakeholders share a common understanding of central concepts and research methods.
Throughout the training, facilitators will invite participants to take part in short daily evaluation which includes completing pre-post knowledge assessment, as well as providing feedback and reflections on quality and relevance of the sessions, identifying what worked well and what could be improved.
