AFIDEP is excited to announce its role in a newly selected global consortium that will drive civil society and youth engagement under the GFF × CIVIC Platform, a USD 10 million initiative supporting stronger, more inclusive health systems across partner countries.
Led by PATH, with AFIDEP and the Organisation of African Youth (OAY) as core partners, the consortium will implement Pillar 1 – VOICES, which focuses on strengthening civil society participation and empowering youth leadership to advance sustainable domestic resource mobilisation for women’s, children’s, and adolescents’ health.
Through this partnership, AFIDEP will contribute its expertise in evidence-informed decision-making, policy engagement, and capacity strengthening to help create more accountable, community-driven health systems. The work aims to ensure that local voices—especially young people—are meaningfully involved in shaping health priorities and influencing policy and financing decisions.
This selection follows a competitive global call for proposals launched in July 2025 by the Global Financing Facility (GFF) and CIVIC: The Civil Society and Social Innovation Alliance, with technical input from the Civil Society Coordinating Group. Proposals were assessed for innovation, sustainability, and potential to improve health outcomes for women, children, and adolescents.
AFIDEP is glad to collaborate with PATH, OAY, and the wider CIVIC Platform partners in this next phase. Together, we look forward to advancing solutions that align financing, accountability, and community leadership to strengthen health systems that work for everyone.
