The African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) is participating in the High-Level East African Engagement Forum.

Time: 3.15 pm – 4.15 pm EAT
Themed Financing and Investor Readiness for Local Manufacturing of Priority Medical Products, the forum brings together policymakers, investors, industry leaders, and development partners to accelerate Africa’s health manufacturing agenda.
AFIDEP’s Deputy Executive Director, Dr Rose Oronje, will moderate Session 2: Investment Readiness and Market Enablers – Unlocking Capital for Africa’s Health Economy.
The session combines fireside conversations and panel discussions, spotlighting two critical areas:
- Investment Readiness Clinics to examine governance benchmarks, financial structuring, technology transfer partnerships, and market offtake and purchase guarantees. Speakers include Mr. Peter Kiprono, Manager, Deals – Transaction Advisory at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), and Mr. Palu Dhanani, Managing Director of Universal Corporation.
- Market Predictability and Demand Guarantees to explore pooled procurement, advance market commitments, and regional demand aggregation, led by Dr. Eric Nzeyimana, Principal Health Officer at the East African Community (EAC) Secretariat.
The forum is convened by the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya (PSK), in collaboration with AUDA-NEPAD and the East African Community to advance the implementation of the continental Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Plan for Africa (PMPA) under the 24 Priority Medical Products (24 PMP) Initiative.
AFIDEP is a non-profit, pan-African policy institute established to help bridge the gap between research, policy and practice. We partner with governments, civil society, and the international community to strengthen the use of data and research in decision-making, driving policies and investments that transform lives across the continent.
