AFIDEP at the Malawi Technology, Security, and Development: Problems and Prospects Symposium

AFIDEP is participating in the “Malawi Technology, Security, and Development: Problems and Prospects Symposium” on 28–29 November 2024 in Lilongwe. Organised by the National Defence College (NDC) of the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) in collaboration with the Malawi Computer Emergency Response Team (MwCERT) of the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA), the symposium is themed “Harnessing Emerging Technology to Achieve Malawi Vision 2063 (MW2063).” 

Dr Eliya Zulu, AFIDEP’s Executive Director, will serve as a keynote discussant following a keynote address by Mr Themba Arthur Kalua, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Samoa. 

Prof. Nyovani Madise, AFIDEP’s Director of Development Policy and Head of Malawi Office, will present on “Health and Wealth: Innovation and Technology for Inclusive Growth”, to be followed by a panel discussion. 

The symposium will explore the challenges and opportunities emerging technologies present in Malawi’s national security and development.
