African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP), through the Health Tech Platform, is partnering with the East African Community (EAC)’s health department, and the East African Health Research Commission (EAHRC), and the Ifakara Health Institute to convene a dialogue to discuss the status of legal and regulatory frameworks in the East African region as relates to the development, testing and deployment of genetically modified mosquitoes for malaria control and elimination.

The meeting will create awareness and provide an opportunity for the sub-region to chart its path in regulatory reforms relating to developing, testing, and deploying genetically modified mosquitoes for Malaria control.
