The African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) in collaboration with the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) have been implementing a two-year project, Evidence Leaders in Africa (ELA) aimed at expanding leadership for the use of evidence in policy formulation and implementation by African governments. Part of the project is a seed grant initiative which supports activities of scientists that promote Evidence-Informed Decision-Making (EIDM) within governments.
The ELA initiative awarded seed grant worth $20,0000 to four scientists to implement initiatives that institutionalise EIDM in government agencies in their countries. The grant was intended to support activities necessary to advance initiatives that nurture a culture of evidence use. Four seed grants were awarded.
Two of the seed grantees Dr. Eucharia Nwaichi (https://youtu.be/6q1gh32W0HA ) and Dr. Temitope Sogbanmu (https://youtu.be/R5U5eTAqEqE ) projects will be coming to an end at the end of December and this close-out event serves as a platform for dissemination of their work.
