The Ministry of Health, Kenya in partnership with the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) will conduct a validation meeting of the Kenya Climate Change and Health Strategy (KCCHS) 2024–2028. The strategy seeks to provide the country with an effective plan to address climate change and health in the medium to long-term. Specifically, it seeks to (i) assess the hazards climate change poses to the Kenyan population and the need for adaptation measures; (ii) promote climate change mitigation efforts in Kenya’s health sector; and guide climate mitigation and adaptation governance and leadership within the health sector. The KCCHS was developed by the Ministry of Health, Kenya, with technical support from AFIDEP and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), and a grant from the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), through the Making the Case for Planetary Health in Sub-Saharan Africa Project.
