On Think Tanks conference: AFIDEP’s take on COVID-19 impact on North-South research partnerships

Events of the past fifteen months have proven to be both disruptive as well as an opportunity for re-thinking how and why we do what we do, and how we can do it better.

Dr. Rose Oronje, Director, Public Policy and Communication at AFIDEP is among panelists who will be discussing ‘the impact of the pandemic and social justice movements on North-South research partnerships’  at the On Think Tanks (OTT) virtual Conference 2021. The session  will be held on 21 April at 16:00 – 17:00 (CEST)  and will focus on North-South research partnership models and opportunities, and the benefits and challenges associated with them.

Dr. Oronje will be joined in the panel discussions by Norma Altshuler, Program Officer in Global Development and Population – Hewlett Foundation and Mohammed Awal, Team Lead (Social Accountability & SDGs Programming Coordinator) – Ghana Center for Democratic Development. The session is organised by Alexander Wooley, Director of Partnerships and Communications – AidData.

The  OTT virtual conference 2021 will be held between 20-22 April 2020 and is co-hosted by On Think Tanks (OTT) and the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP). The event brings together hundreds of think tankers, think tank scholars, funders and policymakers from around the world to share perspectives and reflect on the role of think tanks in times of crises.
