African Regional Economic Communities (RECs) will convene in Nairobi on November 11-12, 2024, for a dialogue on harnessing emerging technologies to transform healthcare in Africa. The event will focus on the pivotal role of RECs in harnessing emerging technologies to transform healthcare systems across the continent.  

As Africa continues to face a variety of healthcare challenges, RECs are increasingly seen as central players in aligning technological innovations with local health priorities to ensure sustainable development and improved healthcare outcomes.  

Therefore, the Nairobi dialogue will focus on how RECs can guide their member states in creating an enabling environment for the successful integration of AI, IoMT, blockchain, and other technologies into national healthcare systems. The participants will also explore how the technologies can improve healthcare systems and meet the growing health demands of African populations.
