Akansasiira Betty, currently serves as the Programs Coordinator at Girl Power Foundation Uganda (GPFU). a community-based organization situated in Nyamigoye Parish, Kanungu District, envisions “A world where every girl grows to her fullest potential.” The focus areas of her organisation include Girl Power Skills, Mentorship and Life Skills, and Quality Education for girls, aiming to enhance primary school retention and secondary school enrollment for girls.

In her role as Programs Coordinator at GPFU, Betty says that after the PHED leadership training she gained an interdisciplinary understanding of population dynamics, environment, health, and development. In addition, she comprehensively understood the PHED integration approach which will come in handy at the GPFU and contribute to the holistic transformation of communities, fostering sustainable development. She is a graduate of Makerere University, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Land Use and Management.
