Our People

Alice-Anna Shoo is from Tanzania and lives in its vibrant capital city of Dar es Salaam. She works as a WASH Officer Intern at the Africa Medical and Research Foundation whose vision is to bring about lasting health changes in Africa.  As an environmental engineer, Anna contributes to the transformative healthcare solutions for improved and sustainable sanitation facilities.

She finds immense joy in being part of the PHED program, particularly as a member of the inaugural cohort and one of the 20 individuals from East Africa and says the experience gained has breathed new life into her dreams and passions, sharpening her skills and sparking excitement about the positive impact she will make in her community. She plans to take these newfound PHED skills beyond the program and actively participate in monitoring the desired changes, aiming to leave a lasting mark on the health landscape.
