Salome Ndanu Mbithi
Research Assistant- Intern

Ndanu joined AFIDEP in July 2025. She is based at our Nairobi office, and supports the Youth Futures Policy Research project.

Ndanu holds a double MSc in Public Policy & Human Development from Maastricht University/UNU-MERIT and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from USIU-Africa.

With a versatile skill set developed over seven years, Ndanu has successfully navigated diverse roles. Her expertise extends to project coordination, data analysis, translating complex research into accessible knowledge products, customer support, proposal writing and event planning.

Dedicated to a career in research and policy, Ndanu is focused on driving impactful evidence-informed changes in education. Her research interests include teenage pregnancy, youth development, multi-level governance and regional integration.

Prior to joining AFIDEP, she worked as a Policy Engagement Assistant at Jaslika.

Outside of work, Ndanu cherishes spending quality time with her loved ones and her cat. She also loves playing football, reading, and engaging in ministry.
