Our People
I’m Tumwebaze Sanyu Amabel from Uganda, East Africa. I am currently awaiting graduation after pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce at Makerere University Business School. I volunteer in the programs department at the United Nations Association of Uganda (UNAU).
The UNAU (https://unauganda.org/about-us/) is an organization that typically operates as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Uganda, dedicated to supporting and promoting the ideals, principles, and objectives of the United Nations (UN). Their work often involves organizing seminars, workshops, conferences, and educational programs to educate the public, especially youth, about the work of the UN and how it relates to local issues. They collaborate with government entities, other NGOs, and local communities to implement projects aligned with the UN’s agenda, striving to contribute positively to Uganda’s development and address global challenges at a grassroots level.
The PHED program has taught the significance of using an integrated approach to address problems is way better than working in silos. After going through the PHED leadership training, my vision is to introduce a PHED school-work transition program in Uganda and to increase the visibility of PHED Integration approaches in Uganda through writing articles in Newspapers .
I’m thrilled to be part of this program as it’s been truly transformative for me. I’m committed to championing PHED approaches throughout my life.
