Victor Kidake Senelwa
Research and Policy Associate

Victor joins AFIDEP as a Research & Policy Associate for the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Financing Project, based at the Nairobi Office.

He holds a Master of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics, both from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Diploma in Project Management and is certified in Monitoring and Evaluation from the International Business Management Institute in Berlin.

Victor brings over 9 years of progressive experience in research, economic policy analysis, and data-driven decision-making across Africa and the Pacific. Prior to joining AFIDEP, he served as a Short-Term Consultant with the World Bank, where he contributed to the Fiji Country Economic Memorandum (CEM), focusing on growth diagnostics, macroeconomic modeling, and resilience to climate-related shocks.

He has also held roles as Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant at Eagles for Sustainable Growth Africa, Consultant at the Royal United Services Institute, and Research Manager at Skyda Consultancy. Through these roles, he has demonstrated expertise in health systems financing, strategic project management, multi-stakeholder engagement, and advanced data analysis using tools such as STATA, SPSS, and R.

Victor has co-authored several research publications on productivity, labor market dynamics, health system costing, and the economic impacts of climate change. His strong background in evidence-based policy design and cross-sectoral collaboration positions him to make a significant contribution to AFIDEP’s mission.

Outside of work, Victor enjoys traveling, exploring African economic history, and mentoring young researchers and students interested in policy and development.
