This week, AFIDEP will be participating in a Knowledge Management Share Fair organised by USAID Kenya and East Africa and co-hosted jointly with the East and Central African Health Community and the Knowledge for Health (K4Health) Project.

The Share Fair, whose theme is: Peer to Peer Sharing: Toolkit and Tactics, will take place in Arusha between April 13 and 14, 2016. It will bring together more than 80 participants from 13 countries to exchange best practices in advancing global health and development.

AFIDEP will be represented by the Director, Science Communication and Evidence Uptake, Dr. Rose Oronje, who will give a talk on the knowledge translation approach adopted by our Strengthening Capacity to Use Research Evidence in Health Policy (SECURE Health) Programme.

The objective of the Fair is to demonstrate how the use of Knowledge Management techniques can improve program activities, contribute to improved development outcomes; and further the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the East, Central and Southern Africa regions.

Participants will share examples of successful and effective programmes in East Africa that have used Knowledge Management strategies, tools, practices and technologies and the ways in which approaches can be more widely leveraged and or replicated at a global level.
