We have #OnlyOneEarth. Let’s take care of it.

Climate change has serious impacts on various aspects of population health. We have to make concerted efforts to generate, synthesise and translate evidence to guide climate change action to protect our health.

Among other effects, climate change contributes to increases in:

  • Vector-borne diseases
  • Respiratory ailments
  • Malnutrition
  • Water, sanitation and hygiene-related diseases

With these significant effects, the Making a case for planetary health in sub-Saharan Africa project aims to build the evidence base for policy packages that address the health impacts of climate change.

The infographic below highlights some of the key facts and why we need to act.
