Bugembe Francis Derrick

Bugembe Francis Derrick, a Ugandan, works with the National Population Council (NPC) as a Programs Assistant. NPC is a government agency under the ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development that was established by an Act of Parliament in 2014 to coordinate the implementation of the National Population Policy and Population Programme, and to advocate for the integration of population factors in development planning in accordance with the agreed framework under the National Development Plan.

Bugembe says that the PHED training has enhanced his understanding of other Public Health areas especially the nexus among environment (Climate), Health (Nutrition) and will use the Smart advocacy learned to improve practical skills approach while in the field. He is happy to have interacted with various doctors, professors, professionals and fellow PHED Leaders from Japan, Philippines, Côte d’Ivoire, Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. He has a background is in Demography and Reproductive Health and is a Public Health enthusiast.
