Senegal Gender Data and Decision-Making Landscape Study Validation Programme Co-creation
Event Date: 22 - 23 Apr 2025
Event Location: Azalaï Hotel – Dakar, Senegal

The African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP), in partnership with the Consortium pour la Recherche Économique et Sociale (CRES) and the Ministère de la Famille et des Solidarités, is hosting a two-day workshop to validate the findings of the Senegal Gender Data and Decision-Making Landscape Assessment. The workshop will also facilitate the co-creation of a programme to strengthen gender data systems and their use in decision-making in Senegal.

Date: April 22–23, 2025
Venue: Azalaï Hotel – Dakar, Senegal
Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

 Workshop Objectives:

  1. Gain deeper insight into the current state of gender data generation, translation, and use in Senegal, including existing investments, challenges, and opportunities.
  2. Develop a draft programme for strengthening gender data and its application in decision-making.
  3. Foster stronger collaboration between AFIDEP and stakeholders within Senegal’s gender data ecosystem.

Since March 2024, AFIDEP has been conducting a comprehensive assessment of Senegal’s gender data and decision-making landscape. Led by local consultants, the study explores existing practices, institutional capacities, and key gaps. The findings will inform strategies to enhance gender data translation and application in policymaking, both in Senegal and across Africa, through a collaborative programme led by AFIDEP and its partners.
