AFIDEP’s Macroeconomic Policy for Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) project, in partnership with Kenya’s State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action (SDfGAA), is hosting a two day gender-responsive budgeting (GRB) training for county officials, civil society organisations, NGOs, private sector actors, and women representatives in Taita Taveta County, Kenya.
Aim:
To strengthen the capacity of county governments and other stakeholders in GRB and the incorporation of WEE strategies into the five-year County Integrated Development Plans (CIDPs) and Annual Development Plans (ADPs).
Facilitators:
Mary Mwami – AFIDEP
Dr Eliud Mutwiri – SDfGAA
Amos Orumi – SDfGAA
Amos Bitok – National Treasury.
Taita Taveta County has shown commendable leadership in championing gender equity. Through this initiative, AFIDEP and SDfGAA are investing in meaningful, practical, and sustainable capacity strengthening to ensure that women’s contributions, both paid and unpaid, are finally recognised and valued in Kenya’s development agenda.
