Evi4Dev 2025 Conference Call to Action

In Nairobi, Kenya, from May 6- 8, 2025, we gathered for the inaugural Evidence for Development (Evi4Dev) Conference, a landmark convening bringing together voices from across Africa and beyond to shape how data, evidence, and innovation can drive the continent’s development agenda.
This “Call to Action: Optimising the Role of Data, Evidence, and Innovation in Africa’s Development Efforts document” reflects the collective input of 408 delegates from 29 countries, including policymakers, researchers, innovators, civil society, development partners, and youth, all committed to advancing data, evidence, and innovation in Africa’s development agenda.
The Call-to-Action outlines priority areas across cross-cutting and sector-specific themes, including:
- Harnessing data and innovation to accelerate Africa’s development
- Integrating STISA 2034 into national agendas
- AI and digital innovations for development
- Domestic financing, youth innovation, equity and inclusion
- Sector actions in wealth creation, digital infrastructure, food security, education, and health
