International Youth Day is commemorated every year on 12 August.

The theme of International Youth Day 2021 is, “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health”, with the aim of highlighting that the success of such a global effort will not be achieved without the meaningful participation of young people.

This year we call for increased investments and support for youth innovation to accelerate the transformation of food systems, improve food and nutrition security, equity, socio-economic justice, ecological sustainability within “planetary boundaries,” and other sustainable development objectives.
