Making a Case for the Integration of Health into Climate Policies and Actions in Africa
5 April 2026

This position paper makes a case for stronger integration of health into climate change policies and actions in Africa. Drawing on available evidence and policy analysis, it examines the pathways through which climate change affects health, identifies gaps in the current policy landscape, highlights key barriers to climate-health integration, and points to emerging opportunities for coordinated action. The paper calls for more evidence-informed, adequately financed, and multisectoral responses that protect health while strengthening Africa’s climate resilience.
