Our People

Gideon is a Research Assistant Intern with the Mastercard Youth Futures Project at AFIDEP, based in Nairobi. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from Kenyatta University and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Economics (Policy and Management) at the same institution.
Prior to joining AFIDEP, Gideon worked in the youth empowerment space with the International Republican Institute, where he supported advocacy initiatives focused on youth empowerment in Nairobi County through a democracy and governance lens. He also worked at the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) in monitoring and evaluation and economic regulation through surveillance and enforcement.
Gideon is passionate about development economics, with a particular interest in poverty alleviation and promoting sustainable, inclusive, and equitable development.
Outside of his professional work, Gideon enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring nature, and serving in the music and deaconry ministries at his church.
